ILPS Commission 10
Commission on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, National Minorities, Oppressed Nationalities and Nations
75 Years of Nakba
The International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) Commission 10 on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, National Minorities, Oppressed Nationalities and Nations stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their continued struggle for justice, rights, and liberation.
As we mark 75 years since the onset of Israel’s systematic ethnic cleansing and violent occupation, we are reminded of the expulsion of approximately 750,000 to one million Palestinians during the establishment of the Zionist state of Israel in 1948.
We condemn Israel’s ongoing occupation of Palestinian land and its brutal military campaign in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza, which has resulted in seven million Palestinians in exile to date.
For over seven decades, Israel’s colonialism has committed countless atrocities against the Palestinian people, including land confiscation, home demolitions, settler violence, killings, and military attacks.
We mourn the recent death of Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan after 87 days of hunger strike in Israeli detention, which highlights the unjust detention and treatment of over 4,900 Palestinian political prisoners and 1,016 detainees held without charge or trial. We are further alarmed by the Israeli government’s imprisonment of more than 12,000 Palestinian children since 2000.
In the days leading up to the commemoration of Nakba Day, the Israeli forces launched a series of missile attacks on Gaza and conducted forcible military raids into Palestinian homes across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
We condemn the disproportionate use of force by the Israeli military, which is enabled by the funding and logistical support of UK and US imperialists. As these recent attacks will further exacerbate the already precarious situation of Palestinians living in Israel and the OPTs.
Call for solidarity: Free Palestine!
We call upon the international community to amplify their voices and demand an end to the military occupation in Palestine, as well as justice for the 75 years of systematic and institutionalized oppression against Palestinians.
We demand that the UK and US imperialists, who facilitate and enable this oppression, cease funding the carnage of the Palestinian people!
Let us stand in solidarity and unite in our fight for a just and peaceful world.
Long live international solidarity!
Struggle for Self-determination and Liberation!
Down with US Imperialism!
Down with Zionism!
