(February 22, 2021) The ILPS in Africa and West Asia condemns the brutal invasion in broad daylight by Israeli occupation forces of the Palestinian city of Nablus and the subsequent massacre that left at least 11 Palestinians dead, including three elderly people and a child, with some 100 people injured.

The attack took place in a crowded market in Nablus city centre using live ammunition and tear gas, with the Red Crescent reporting that the Israeli occupation forces prevented medical teams from reaching the injured.

This massacre takes place less than a month after an Israeli raid on Jenin which killed 10 Palestinians, again including elderly and children, with UN rights experts exposing it as a possible war crime.

We call on ILPS members to initiate protests and join in actions being organized in the face of these attacks.

Our hearts and militant solidarity go out to the families and loved ones of the Nablus and Jenin victims and to all those who are suffering at the hands of the Zionist occupation. Resistance is building to the far-right apartheid Zionist regime, which is obviously ready to resort to desperate and deadly measures to remain in power as the imperialist outpost in West Asia.

We will continue to work with others around the world to build the anti-imperialist movement to bring about the liberation of Palestine.

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!

Viva, viva, Palestina!
