Special Declaration of the ILPS 7th International Assembly

The struggle of Palestine dates back to the 19th century with the European settler colonial project to control Palestine and the region. This was institutionalized with the Balfour Declaration of 1917. This paved the way for the ethnic cleansing, dispossession, land grabbing, and displacement of the 1948 Nakba, which continues today.

“Israeli” practices are systematically engineered to continue the ethnic cleansing and uprooting of Palestinians, across all of Palestine including the West Bank, Gaza and lands occupied in 1948. These practices include the apartheid wall, building of settlements, military zones and checkpoints to control 40% of the land and 80% of the water in the West Bank. In addition, the Zionist entity continues to dispossess and displace the indigenous Bedouin land defenders of the Naqab, south of Palestine. Another overlooked form of ethnic cleansing is the cultural genocide of Palestinian language, cultural traditions, education, landscape, and history in the lands occupied in 1948.

Since 2007, Palestinians in Gaza have endured six brutal wars where, according to international law, prohibited arms were used against them. Since then, the Zionist entity implemented a complete blockade on Gaza’s air, land, and sea including enforcing a calorie-count diet under Israel’s “Food Consumption Red Lines” policy. Since October 7th, these punitive measures have skyrocketed and along with the U.S.-backed Zionist state’s relentless bombing of Gaza have resulted in the martyrdom of at least tens of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza including even much more injured and missing. Since October 2023, Israel’s genocidal machine has resulted in the complete industrial-scale destruction of hospitals, schools, universities, and infrastructure; the denial of food, water, fuel, shelter, medicines and other life essentials. According to IPC (Food Security Classification), one hundred percent of Gaza’s population is facing a food crisis with nearly 50% experiencing a Stage V famine*. “Israel” has dropped over 75,000 tonnes of explosives on Gaza’s densely populated and rural areas – over five times the firepower used on Hiroshima.

One of the greatest achievements of October 7th through Palestinian armed resistance is it raised the consciousness of the masses; solidifying a weakness of the Zionist narrative to a point of no return. The fight for a free Palestine is at the very heart of the international battle between oppressed and oppressor, between imperialist monopoly capital and the people of the world. It has also reignited the U.S.-Russia and China rivalry. The ILPS unconditionally supports the struggle of the Palestinian people to free their homeland.

We, the peoples of the world, demand the following immediate actions in support of Palestinian steadfastness:

  • A permanent ceasefire;
  • The opening of all borders for the unconditional entry of humanitarian aid including allowing all humanitarian relief organizations such as UNRWA to return to work;
  • The release of all Palestinian political prisoners in the US, “Israel”, and elsewhere;
  • The return of all those displaced to their homes;
  • A permanent end to the blockade and sanctions on the Gaza Strip;
  • Recommit our support for all forms of Palestinian resistance including armed resistance and the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) of “Israel” and MNCs supporting the genocide;
  • The pursuit of legal actions, both judicially and through popular tribunals to hold “Israel” accountable; and
  • The implementation of extraterritorial obligations to hold all complicit parties accountable.

Furthermore, the International League of Peoples Struggles and the Palestinian People’s Resistance Movement enjoin peace-loving peoples of the world to support the convening of an International People’s Tribunal (IPT) on the War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity of the Zionist Israel state and US imperialism against the Palestinian people.

This initiative, championed by Palestinians and international supporters, seeks to address the historical injustice and settler-colonialism the Israel-Netanyahu government and US imperialism committed against Palestinians, including genocide, ecocide, scholasticide, and weaponization of famine and starvation as tools of war. It aims to hold them accountable for their wanton disregard of Palestinian lives and crimes against humanity as enshrined in the Algiers Charter and international conventions.

With the United States, “Israel,” and their allies applying their undue political influence in established mechanisms like the UN or the International Criminal Court (ICC), and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the IPT will serve as a moral and political platform for victims, survivors, advocates, and national and social justice movements in exacting accountability against the Zionist war criminals and their imperialist sponsors.

Finally, we reaffirm the call to end Israeli colonialism and its occupation of Palestine, from the river to the sea. We resolutely and militantly support the Palestinian people in their just struggle for national liberation and for the return of all Palestinian refugees and those in exile to their homeland, and to establish a free democratic Palestinian state where all citizens enjoy equal rights and obligations.

We salute the people of Palestine; we salute the resistance; and, we salute all those who stand in solidarity with the oppressed all over the world.

The people united, will never be defeated!

Long live international  solidarity!

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!
