In Response to U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’ Statement on Women’s Role in the Economy

In a town hall meeting in Sofitel Plaza, Pasay City, Philippines, United States Vice President Kamala Harris spoke before representatives of various Filipino women’s groups, calling for women to “participate in economic activities and engage in civil society.”

“VP Harris should stop purple washing her Philippine visit and instead take a hard look at how the neoliberal economic policies imposed by the U.S. worsened poverty and inequality in the country”, ILPS General Secretary Liza Maza responded.
