The International League of Peoples’ Struggles (ILPS) Commission 3 on the Human Rights and Political Prisoners, express our most militant solidarity for the Palestine Days of Resistance on August 7,8,9 with the banner call: Defend the Land and People of Palestine.

On this occasion, we reiterate our call for the immediate and unconditional release of the estimated 5,000 Palestinian political prisoners held in various Israeli occupation prisons including children prisoners, numbering 180 at the latest count. It is the height of cowardice to imprison Palestinian children and consider them a security threat to the state of Israel.

We echo the call of the UN to urgently release the elderly, sick prisoners, women prisoners and those held in detention without charge or trial, in the light of the threats posed by the COVID 19 pandemic.

We likewise condemn the latest assault of the government of Israel to the people of Palestine when Israeli occupation forces abducted from their home Rania Elias the director of the Yabous Cultural Center and her husband Suhail Khoury, director of the National Music Institute on 22 Wednesday July 2020. Israeli occupation forces also ransacked, files taken away at the Yabous Cultural Center, an active center of cultural and performing arts in Palestine. Simultaneously attacked was the Jerusalem Arts Network and its director, Daoud al-Ghoul, arrested. While as of this writing, couple Rania Elias and Suhail Khoury, were already released, Daoud al-Ghoul is still kept in jail.

We demand for the immediate release of Daoud al-Ghoul from prison. Israeli forces must be held accountable for this brazen-faced action against Palestine cultural workers. We condemn this move as part of the continuing scheme of the Israeli government to obliterate Palestine and its culture. We call on all freedom loving peoples of the world to stand up with the Palestinian people to defend their land against Israeli colonialists. #
