Stop US Military Aggression on Venezuela!

Statement of the ILPS

The International League of Peoples’ Struggle vehemently opposes and calls on all peace loving people to also oppose the increased US military aggression, fascist attacks against Venezuelan migrants, attempts for regime change against the Bolivarian Republic, and all forms of hybrid warfare that have intensified under the Trump administration.

In late August 2025, the US deployed its military arsenal including fighter jets and naval ships in the Caribbean Sea in a provocative move against Venezuela. The US continues to claim without evidence that the Venezuelan government is involved in drug trafficking, a claim historically used against Latin American countries to justify US counter-revolutionary wars for plunder. Since then, the US has aerially attacked four different boats off of Venezuela’s shores and has murdered 21 people via drone strikes. While the Trump regime has labeled each of those killed as “narco-terrorists”, most of those killed are likely fisherpeople or migrants.

Since the administration of Hugo Chavez, the US has had an adversarial if not outright antagonistic opposition to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The US has been relentless in its attempts to overthrow the democratically elected government of Venezuela, determined to use its oil revenues to enrich US monopoly capitalists and financial investors. The Bush administration likely had a hand in the 2002 coup d’etat that was promptly reversed by the people. The Obama administration began sanctioning officials in the Bolivarian Republic, marking explicit opposition for the first time. Finally, the first and second Trump administration has only increased its attacks against Venezuela — first with the puppet Guaido alongside over 900 sanctions to cripple their economy, and now with an outright $50 million bounty on President Maduro’s head.

The completely arbitrary designations such as “narcoterrorism” combines both the worst expressions of American fascism and imperialism in recent history, the War on Drugs and War on Terror respectively. The fascist Trump regime, just as imperialist as the previous US presidential regimes, has also waged war on Venezuelan migrants within its borders. Trump has invoked over 200-year-old laws such as the 1798 Alien Enemies Act. Under this act, the administration has deported hundreds of US-based Venezuelans to different countries around the world, including to be imprisoned and disappeared in El Salvador under the fascist Bukele regime.

Venezuela‘s government is categorically not a drug cartel. It is being smeared as such because it regularly stands with its people against US imperialism. The allegations of drug trafficking against those coming from Venezuela is only meant to justify to Trump’s mass base the extreme violence it has enacted against migrants in the US, who are often forced to flee their homelands because of US-led war. The people of Venezuela are mobilizing across the country to defend its national sovereignty through voluntary military conscription and mass participation in production through economic communes to defend the country’s sovereignty against US imperialism.

This aggression will only draw more people to support the Bolivarian Republic in their just struggle for national sovereignty against US imperialism. Venezuela is united, and the people of the world must be united with them. The League calls on all of our members and organizations across the world to oppose the US’s economic, political, and military attempts at regime change. We must demand the immediate halt to the extrajudicial killings of Venezuelans by US drones and the immediate withdrawal of all US forces from the region.

Hands off Venezuela! U.S. troops out now!

No to US troops in the Caribbean for attacks against Venezuela!

End US-led wars! End the sanctions!

No regime change! No intervention!

Down with US imperialism!

From Venezuela to the Philippines, Stop the US War Machine!

Signed,

International League of Peoples’ Struggle
