Protest the Traitorous Attack on Iran by the Zionist State of Israel!

Condemn the imperialist US for pushing wars and aggression in West Asia!

The International League for People’s Struggles (ILPS) – Africa and West Asia committee condemns the attack by the Zionist state against Iran on June 13^th. The traitorous attack was launched while the United States and Iran are negotiating over the latter’s nuclear program. In his first term, US President Trump suspended negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program. Now on his second term he returned to the negotiating table with Iran. But Israel, its enabled war machine in West Asia, practically torpedoed the negotiations when it attacked Iran recently. The negotiations have now been canceled, its future unclear.

Israel’s air attack, a declaration of war as Tehran calls it, started a new round of strikes and counter-strikes between the two countries. This followed Israel’s aggression against Hezbollah in Lebanon and its invasion of Syrian territory last year. In Gaza, Israel continues to commit genocide using bombs, bullets, aid and starvation as weapons. The Zionist government’s bullying of the Arab people is pushing the Middle East to war.

This latest act of aggression by the Zionists could not have happened without the consent and support of the United States. The horrifying acts of war against Palestinians is engendering mass protests worldwide, pushing even the shameless Trump administration to put up an act of distancing from Israel like what it playacted during its visit to the Gulf region last month. But the US had prior knowledge of Israel’s attack on Iran; the US consistently arms and defends the Israeli occupation of Palestine and genocide in Gaza. Even the latest weaponization of aid to further displace and massacre the Palestinians was the imperialist US idea. For US geopolitical interest, it wants to maintain a Western outpost like Israel in Arab countries of the Middle East. It covets the region’s vast fossil fuel resources and longs to control the supply routes of oil in the region. The Zionist state commits barbaric acts with impunity because of the support of US imperialism. Iran, on the other hand, is an Islamic Republic asserting national sovereignty and independence against imperialism.

We call on the peoples of the world to condemn this latest act of aggression of the apartheid state and its US imperialist enabler. Let us make our voices heard, our condemnation of their impunity and our support to people struggling for their sovereignty, self-determination and independence. Let us hold the Zionist state of Israel accountable for its growing crimes against the community of nations and humanity. Let us join our hands, give what we can from our homes, schools and places of work, to lend strength to the protests and various forms of action toward putting an end to the barbaric acts of Zionist Israel and imperialist US.
