Statement of the ILPS Asia and the Pacific Regional Committee
The members of the International League of People Struggles – Asia and the Pacific (ILPS-AP) denounce the continuation of the genocide against the Palestinian people by the US-backed Benjamin Netanyahu and the Zionist Israel regime.
During the early morning of March 18, 2025, the Israel Occupation Force broke the ceasefire and dropped bombs on the makeshift tents in Gaza, killing more than 400 Palestinians, including 174 children while they slept. The zionist Israel regime led by Netanyahu has hinted the resumption of the war as early as March 2, 2025, when they imposed a total blockade of aid to Gaza. The Zionist entity, as has been its wont, continues its warmongering in the region through the fasting month of Ramadan, and exacerbating the hardship and misery of millions of people being held under siege.
After the breaking of the ceasefire, Netanyahu declared on live broadcast that “negotiations will only happen under fire.” The Trump administration has also made clear the its full support for the genocidal operations against the Palestinians. The US Charges D’ Affaires to the UN Security Council affirmed their support: as they state “… we support Israel in its next steps…”, relating to Hamas and Palestine.
The Trump administration made clear that the US support for the genocide by Israel against the Palestinians is part of a wider operations targeting the Middle East, which can include military operations attacks in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, with Iran being the US main target.
With the strategic Indo-Pacific pivot of the US and the subsequent encirclement operations against China, the people of Asia and the Pacific must be concerned. In the past years, war preparations is happening across the Korean Peninsula and the South China Sea, with new military arrangements and agreements inked between the US and countries in the Asia and the Pacific. The formation of the multilateral security arrangement like the AUKUS, the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD), the QUAD-Plus, as well as the bilateral agreements between the US and the countries in the region, between countries in the region, are telling signs of war preparations.
The ILPS-AP calls out to the working people, the migrants, the peasants and the indigenous people, the youth, the women, to stand up against the imperialist war mongering agenda which serves only the US and its allies in furthering control over the our resources, our livelihoods, our lives.
