ILPS Global Day of Action

The ILPS calls on its member organizations to take action in recognition of March 30th as Palestinian Land Day in solidarity with the Palestinian people. We invite anti-imperialists worldwide to participate in raising the Palestinian flag, organize tree planting campaigns, and join or initiate solidarity actions for Palestine.

Background Context:

Started in 1976 following a general strike in which 6 Palestinians were massacred by the Zionist entity while protesting land stolen from the Arab villages of Sakhalin and Arraba, Palestinian Land Day has stood as a day of national unity of Palestinians for the demands of the return of their land, the end of the Zionist occupation and settlements, and the right of return for Palestinians.

This struggle comes in the context of the ongoing struggle for national liberation against the genocidal Zionist settler-colonialism backed by the imperialist powers, namely the United States, for control of West Asia dating back to the Balfour Declaration in 1917 and subsequent British colonization in 1920. The subsequent century of ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people from settler-colonialism by the Zionist occupation has resulted in in an ongoing Nakba since 1947, increasingly stealing and occupying more Palestinian land and displacing its peoples from home without a right to return, culminating in dividing Palestine into a bantustan-like West Bank and open air prison in the Gaza Strip.

With U.S. imperialism becoming the main power in the region, they have given over $339.9b in aid to the Zionist entity to keep them as a watchdog for the US’s largest imperialist interests in West Asia. After the Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7th, 2023, the Zionist entity with full support of the US has conducted a brutal genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, has invaded Lebanon, destabilized Syria, and has dared to attack Yemen and Iran. They, however, have not been able to achieve even one military objective against the united resistance in Palestine and have isolated themselves on the international stage.

With collective consciousness rising internationally in support of a Palestine free from the river to the sea, the League calls on its members to participate in activities and actions to expose the crimes of the Zionist entity and support the solidarity movement with Palestine on Palestinian Land Day.

Call for an International Day of Action:

ILPS calls on its members to take actions in commemoration of the 49th anniversary of the Palestinian Land Day along with the continued resistance to genocide in Palestine and invasion in Lebanon in solidarity with the Palestinian peoples’ call for national liberation, self-determination, and peace and justice in West Asia.

The following calls can be issued during these actions:

• From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free!
• Down with Zionism! Down with Imperialism!
• Viva, Viva! Palestine Viva!
• Palestine Zindabad!
• Stop the Genocide

Actions that can be taken around or on March 30

RAISE THE PALESTINIAN FLAG at your homes and places of gathering and prayer with Eid al-Fitr coinciding with Land Day to support the right to return and self-determination of the Palestinian people. Light up the landmarks of distinguished cities of the world with the colors of the Palestinian flag as a symbol of our unity in the face of the deadly siege that continues what the brutal genocide in Gaza has inflicted. Raise the flag on the balconies of homes, carry it on cars, and fill the neighborhoods!

ORGANIZE TREE-PLANTING CAMPAIGNS IN THE NAME OF THE MARTYRS of Palestine to uphold the Palestinian peoples right to their land despite all attempts of displacement

HOLD ACTIONS such as holding vigils in honor of the martyrs of Palestine, events for children and youth to uplift the Al-Aqsa Flood, mobilizations outside of Israeli or US embassies/consulates and institutions partaking in the Zionist occupation and genocide, or digitally to raise awareness of the crimes of the occupation and support the campaign to prosecute war criminals.

TAKE A PHOTO of yourself or members of your organization raising the Palestinian flag, conducting tree-planting, and/or holding actions in support of the Palestinian people

BDS: Supporting and launching campaigns worldwide to boycott, divest, and sanction the occupying entity and increasing opposition towards it within institutions and publicly

• Use the BDS toolkit from the Global Campaign for the Return to Palestine

 WRITE AND PUBLISH STATEMENTS in solidarity with the people of Palestine and their struggle for an end to the genocide, ending the occupation, and national liberation. Use the ILPS Peoples’ Declaration on Palestine as a reference.

 HOLD POLITICAL EDUCATION sessions publicly or within your organizations. Use the materials found in the ILPS Palestine 101 toolkit as the content for these studies.
